The milestone in retail sales has been driven by the centre’s increasingly diverse mix of local and global brands including H&M, Sephora and Stylerunner, and underpinned by QIC’s ongoing reinvestment and lifestyle-led upgrades. Recent years have seen industry leaders such as Apple and Mecca triple their floorspace, plus the introduction of new essential services spanning allied health, professional advice and government support.

Design-forward food precinct The Kitchens and lakeside dining area The Promenade reinforce the centre’s allure for its 13 million yearly visitors an audience that is set to keep growing in scale and spending power as the region readies for the 2032 Olympic Games.

Now Australia’s sixth-largest city, the Gold Coast has long been popular with Australians seeking a sea change. Miranda Wilson, Investment General Manager at QIC, says: “The significant development delivered in 2016, which included the launch of The Kitchens, along with last year’s addition of 7000sqm of premium office accommodation at 198 Robina Town Centre Drive, have strengthened the centre’s ability to harness the Gold Coast’s extraordinary population growth.

QIC is working to unlock more of the value in the 14.5ha land parcel surrounding the centre through complementary mixed-use development, as well as evolving its urban green space and adjoining community infrastructure.

“This $1bn milestone is just the beginning; we are excited to progress our ambitious masterplan over the coming decade in support of the continued prosperity of the Robina community, Wilson adds.
