Woodgrove is a proud partner of local community charity, Hope Street Youth and Family Services, which assists and supports young people who are, or are at risk of, experiencing youth homelessness within the Melbourne suburb of Melton.
Woodgrove hosted a community engagement event on World Homeless Day, 10 October 2019, to help raise awareness about the misconceptions surrounding youth homelessness, and to highlight the valuable services Hope Street provides to vulnerable young people in the community.
For a gold coin donation, customers could try a small dish from select food court retailers, while enjoying entertainment from local buskers, with all proceeds going towards Hope Street’s Melton programs.
A graphic artist created a couch chalk mural as a message of hope, with the aim to overcome the misconceptions of youth homelessness and highlight that it is largely hidden, with many couch surfing, or sleeping in cars.
Woodgrove has been a proud supporter of Hope Street since 2015.
