In September 2019, Robina Town Centre partnered with local charity LIVIN to launch an in-Centre photography exhibition, with the aim of breaking the stigma attached to mental health in the community.
The month-long pop-up exhibition, Collective Minds – An Exhibition by LIVIN x Robina Town Centre, was a first for both the charity and the Centre, providing a place for quiet contemplation within Robina Town Centre.
The exhibition featured more than 20 emerging and celebrated photographers from around Australia, including many from the local Gold Coast region, as they explored and depicted mental health through their own lens.
LIVIN supports an open and transparent dialogue about mental health, encouraging people to share their feelings and mental health stories to break the stigma surrounding mental health in the community. The exhibition embodied this goal, sparking a conversation about mental health and helping to make mental illness better understood and more visible within the community.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a dedicated exhibition website hosted a Silent Auction of the artworks on display, raising over $20,000 for LIVIN.
LIVIN also hosted a series of LIVIN Well seminars throughout the month, which were free for the community to attend.
